Honda has have settled its concrete market-value in India with a host of affordable and satisfying two-wheelers, both in scooter and motorcycle segment. But, the company seems to have intentions to take the performance a notch higher and has plans to launch four new offerings in India by 2017-18. It will consist of both the geared and gearless vehicles for the riders to have the taste of.
CEO of Honda’s Indian division, in a recent interview, has shared a few strategies related to their future targets. At present, Honda has the record of selling 50 lakh units in the FY 2016-17 which, it plans to raise up to 60 lakh units per fiscal year. For achieving this hefty target, the production capacity will be needed to increase to 64 lakh unit per year and the company is all set to do so.
As reported by the CEO, among the four offerings, one will be the versatile adventure-tourer Africa twin which a majority of Indian riders were waiting for. Assembling of the same has commenced for executing the testing in our country. Other than this, two will be scooters and the fourth offering is still unknown.
