Honda is probably eyeing to add a new faired motorcycle in its commuter line up which, according to Zigwheels, could be the sports version of the naked CB Hornet 160R. After the announcement by the Honda official to launch, in total, four new two-wheelers and two of which will be motorcycles, many have been guessing which bike will be the new guest. Since it has been reported that one of them will be Africa twin then the second, looking at the market, might be the faired sibling of the CB Hornet 160R.
The spokesperson of Honda haven’t disclosed any details related to the new bike but has mentioned about it to be a new commuter model with a ‘fun’ factor. The Honda CB Hornet 160R has fetched a hefty amount of sales in the Indian market thanks to its grunty engine and muscular design. The company might be planning to retain this tradition but, in a new faired disguise.
Talking about the company’s rival, Suzuki, it has the most affordable full-faired motorcycle in its fleet, the Gixxer SF, which was launched after the tremendous sales of naked sibling Gixxer 155. Honda might follow the footprint of its rival in the urge to gain the same popularity. The engine of the Honda CB Hornet 150R is a 162.7cc air-cooled mill which produces 15.9 PS of power and 14.8 Nm of peak torque. The same motor is expected to be carried forward on the new entrant as well.
The entry of the new motorcycle from Honda might take place by the end of this year with an expected price tag between Rs. 90,000 to 95,000 (ex-showroom).
