Increasing enthusiasm towards motorcycles and willingness to spend a huge amount on it have been motivating some high-end bikemakers to commence operations in the Indian market. Among these, is the Italian motorcycle giant Ducati, which is reportedly getting ready to launch five new unavailable models in India. Expected to start arriving by the mid of this year are the bikes including Multistrada 950, Monter 979, Scrambler Desert Sled, Scrambler Cafe Racer and the SuperSport.
Starting from the newest arrival, the Ducati SuperSport is a multi-purpose sports tourer which is made to be used for long hauls and daily commuting, both. Basically, it is the sports model of the Monster with 937cc, twin-cylinder engine. Others in the lineup, are the Multistrada 950 and Monster 979 which are the entry-level models of the company’s premium segment.
The Ducati Scrambler has already gained huge popularity in India and, adding two more bikes in the fleet could be a great idea. The Scrambler Desert Sled and Cafe Racer, former being the off-roader and latter useful for street riding, will attract more youth toward the affordable range of the company. All the bikes will come down to Indian dealerships via CBU route and will be imported from Thailand’s manufacturing plant.
