It is the most powerful Honda offering to be assembled in India.
Honda had kept Indians deprived of its litre-class adventure tourer, the Africa twin, till now. But, the company has given the riders a reason to be delighted by launching the Africa Twin in India. As of now, only 24 Honda dealerships spread across 22 cities will be receiving the motorcycle and 50 units of it will be rolled out of the plant in the first round. Since it will arrive in India via CKD route, Honda has priced the Africa Twin competitively to cut its rivals. At the price tag of Rs. 12.90 Lakhs, the litre-class adventure weapon makes for a fair deal.
To have a look at the specifications, the Honda Africa twin comes with 45mm dia USD forks up front and fully adjustable mono shock to stop the rear wheels. The body is 250 mm up from the ground and the seat height is at 870mm which can be lowered down. All properly suitable for all terrains, isn’t it?
On the gadgetry side, the braking performance is boosted by ABS which is switchable (only for rear tyres though) and, also comes equipped with three-stage traction control system, which can be switched off as well. For dragging the bike at desired speeds, the chassis clinches a 998cc parallel twin engine which is decently powerful with 95.3PS and 98Nm. Only available in a single shade, “New Victory Red”, the Honda Africa Twin will go against the likes of Triumph Tiger, Suzuki V-Strom and Ducati Multistrada 950 in India.
